SugamyaWeb is an online service that enables entities to test and validate website accessibility. Government entities can use it without technical expertise to ensure their websites are accessible to everyone, thus promoting an inclusive online presence. The National Informatics Centre, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India, has designed, developed, hosted, and maintained this website.

Government entities seeking to maintain website accessibility may benefit from utilising the SugamyaWeb framework for testing and report generation. Interested parties may contact the SugamyaWeb support team at sugamyaweb[dot]support[at]gov[dot]in to inquire about platform enrolment and website creation. Various onboarding models are available for consideration.

  • Free of cost: SugamyaWeb is offered free of charge for websites of District administration, Raj Bhawan, State Portal, Divisional Commissioner and Chief Ministers.
  • Paid Model: Offered for bulk websites in slabs of up to 25, 50, 75 or 100.

  1. It must be ensured that all the contact details provided at the time of registration and in the authorisation letter are correct, and the same must be updated as and when there is any change.
  2. Contact details verification is mandatory for both Technical and Administrative contacts. Authorisation Letters can only be generated after Administrative contact details are verified.
  3. Content is the sole responsibility of the Website Owners. SugamyaWeb is not responsible for the content being published on the website. The website is tested for accessibility by the tool; however, adding accessibility-compliant content, pdf, images, and videos, removing outdated content, getting certification for GIGW compliance etc., are the sole responsibility of the Website Owners.
  4. No Personal Identification Details, such as Aadhaar Number, Bank Account Number etc., should be listed in any uploaded documents or HTML pages of the website. In case of non-compliance, the concerned competent authorities may initiate penal action per the Aadhaar Act and subsequent regulations thereunder.
  5. For security reasons, it is advised to keep all login Credentials confidential and change passwords at least once in three months. Follow other cyber security best practices to protect your login credentials. Users are requested to install personal firewall software to secure their machine and website management and install Antivirus software periodically with the latest pattern update and OS patches in their system.
  6. NIC and SugamyaWeb will take all possible measures to prevent data loss; however, due to unforeseen technical issues or human error, NIC and SugamyaWeb cannot be held responsible if the same happens.
